My approach to therapy emphasizes the importance of sociocultural and systemic factors in our lives. I find that this approach helps clients better understand the nature of their symptoms that may manifest as traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss. I've also helped clients explore their authentic selves in a deeper way whether it's around gender identity, sexual orientation, racial, and/or ethnic identities. You can expect that space will be made for us to uncover parts of you that need room to exist and wants to be tended to. Often times, I find myself having discussions around self-compassion and curiosity to help us focus on parts of you that need tending to. My role is to collaborate with you to be self-explorative, allowing you to live more authentically you. I realize it takes trust and safety to seek my support. I’ll be intentional with checking-in on how this process is feeling for you. I also encourage those who decide to take this step to begin therapy, to know you have agency in this process. You are in charge of your self-exploration and healing. If you feel stuck in it, I’m happy to help you through it.
